Scarabino, 4 specimens.   Description.Trunk length 6–13 mm, width 0.5– 1 mm. Eight thoracic and 23–32 abdominal segments. Branchial crown with breaking plane dorsally ( Fig. 4A); only ventral-most radioles ( 3 mmlong) and ventral radiolar appendages entire ( Fig. 4D, E), dorsal radioles broken basally through breaking plane. Branchial crown with semicircular lobes each with 14 radioles, with pinnules of similar length in ventralmost radioles. Two to four pairs of ventral radiolar appendages. Dorsal and ventral basal flanges absent. Basal palmate membrane reduced, radiolar flanges absent. Radiolar eyes absent. Dorsal lips rounded, without both dorsal radiolar appendages and pinnular appendages. Ventral lips and parallel lamellae present, ventral sacs absent. Posterior peristomial ring collar with smooth margin; dorsal collar margins V-shaped, forming pockets, showing anterior peristomial ring and vascular loops in each pocket ( Fig. 4A–C); peristomial eyes not seen; lateral collar margins entire, diagonal ( Fig. 4E); ventral collar margins slightly triangular, separated by mid-ventral incision half length of collar, ventral shield absent. Narrow glandular ridge around chaetiger 2. Thoracic ventral shields rectangular. Interramal eyespots absent. Collar chaetae narrowly-hooded, arranged in two oblique rows. Following thoracic chaetigers with slightly elevated notopodia, with narrowly-hooded superior chaetae, paleate inferior chaetae with long mucro, and additional anterior row of bayonet chaetae. Thoracic neuropodial uncini acicular, with more than five rows of teeth diminishing in size posteriorly, covering half length of main fang. Companion chaetae absent. Abdominal neuropodia almost inconspicuous, with elongate, narrowly-hooded chaetae. Abdominal uncini avicular, elongate, with five rows of similar-sized teeth, occupying half length of main fang, narrow breast and medium-length handles. Pre-pygidial abdominal depression absent. Pygidium triangular ( Fig. 4F) with short cirrus or cirrus scar, pygidial eyespots not seen. Tubes not observed.     Typelocality. South Shetlands,  488 mdepth.   Remarks.  Jasmineira crumeniferadiffers from the other species from Antarctic waters by the following:  J. caecadoes not present collar mid-ventral incisions (present in  J. crumenifera); in  J. regularisthe dorsal collar margins are even/horizontal (V-shaped in  J. crumenifera), while  J. macrophthalmacannot be compared properly since the original description of that species does not provide diagnostic features, and figures were not included. Specimens examined here match with  J. crumenifera, except for the number of ventral radiolar appendages: Hartman-Schröder (1986)described the presence of one pair of radiolar appendages whereas specimens examined here have 2–4 pairs. As with some members of  Chone, the number of radiolar appendages may be a product of intraspecific variation or size related, not necessarily diagnostic features. Presence of bayonet chaetae was not mentioned in the original description, perhaps because these are difficult to see, but specimens from Uruguayhave a row of bayonet chaetae anterior to paleate chaetae. The specimen from lot UANL 8041 is a mature female with oocytes in anterior abdominal chaetigers. 1572324654 UANL Uruguay 170 -35.6 Material 1192 -52.716667 Campana Akademik Knipovich 13 14 UANL 8041 1 1572324661 [502,1011,361,386] V.
