Etymology.THe SPeCIFIC NAMe IS DeRIVeD FROM THe SHORT MALe PATeLLAR APOPHYSIS (LATIN PReFIx "BReVI-" (SHORT), NOUN "PATeLLA" AND AFFIx "-TUS"); ADjeCTIVe.
Diagnosis.MALeS OF THIS SPeCIeS CAN Be DISTINGUISHeD FROM N. pseudocapitulatusBY THe TRIANGULAR ReTROLATeRAL TIBIAL APOPHYSIS AND THe PReSeNCe OF A MeDIAN APOPHYSIS ( FIGS 1C, 5C). THeY CAN ALSO Be DISTINGUISHeD FROM N. capitulatusBY A SHORTeR PATeLLAR APOPHYSIS, ABOUT ⅓ THe LeNGTH OF PATeLLAR APOPHYSIS IN N. capitulatus; AND THe SHORTeR CYMBIAL FURROW, ABOUT ⅓ THe LeNGTH OF CYMBIUM BUT eqUAL TO ½ ASIN N. capitulatus( FIGS 1C, 3C). FeMALeS OF THIS SPeCIeS CAN Be DISTINGUISHeD FROM N. capitulatusBY THe BROADeR SPeRMATHeCAL BASeS, THe WIDTH OF BASeS IS SUBeqUAL TO 1½ THe WIDTH OF ANTeRIOR SPeRMATHeCA, WHILe IT IS ABOUT ½ IN N. capitulatus( FIGS 2B, 4B). THeY CAN ALSO Be DISTINGUISHeD FROM N. pseudocapitulatusBY THe exTeNDeD POSTeRIOR eDGe OF ATRIUM WHICH COVeReD THe MIDDLe PART OF POSTeRIOR ePIGYNAL SCLeRITe, WHILe THe POSTeRIOR ePIGYNAL SCLeRITe SeMICIRCULAR UNCOVeReD IN N. pseudocapitulatus( FIGS 2A, 6A).

LeG MeASUReMeNTS: I 17.84 (5.10, 5.34, 4.85, 2.55); II 17.05 (4.83, 5.59, 4.59, 2.04); III 15.79 (4.58, 4.61, 4.32, 2.28); IV 19.37 (5.62, 5.87, 5.34, 2.54). PALP: PATeLLAR APOPHYSIS SHORT, LeSS THAN ¼ THe LeNGTH OF PATeLLA ( FIG. 1C); ReTROLATeRAL TIBIAL APOPHYSIS TRIANGULAR ( Fig. 1C); cymbial furrow about ⅓ the length of cymbium ( Fig. 1C); embolus beginning at 7:30 to 8 o’clock POSITION ( FIG. 1B); MeDIAN APOPHYSIS PReSeNT, BUT NOT SPOON-SHAPeD ( FIGS 1B–C). Female (one of the paratypes):TOTAL LeNGTH 12.75. CARAPACe 5.61 LONG, 4.08 WIDe. ABDOMeN 7.14 LONG, 4.89 WIDe.
