DISTRIBUTION. — Collected in New Caledonia (Fig. 61), in 350-713 m.
DESCRIPTION. — Shell morphology. Length 0.9 mm, width 0.5 mm (largest specimen examined). Shell fragile, oval, with convex sides (Fig. 60E). Body whorl forming the entire shell; spire not developed, formed by the protoconch only. Suture canaliculate. Protoconch unknown. Umbilicus closed. Aperture very long, about 4/5 of the shell length,
wider anteriorly and narrower posteriorly. Columellar margin thickened, oblique, with no callus. Sculpture of a number of simple spiral grooves, stronger near the anterior and posterior ends. Colour uniformly whitish.
Anatomy. Unknown. All shells collected lacked soft parts.
REMARKS. — Acteocina sp. could be a juvenile of another species of Acteocina , but it is here maintained as a distinct species until more material becomes available
