Elaphria View in CoL is a large New World, predominantly Neotropical genus with 127 species; 14 are known from North America, one from Palaearctic, one from China, three from India and one from Africa ( Pogue & Bolling 2003). Fibiger & Hacker (2007) listed four Palaearctic species ( E. albiviata ( Hampson, 1909) View in CoL , E. conjugata (Moore, 1881) View in CoL , E. fissistigma (Hampson, 1898) View in CoL and E. venustula View in CoL ), however the Old World species, except E. venustula View in CoL , have never been revised, and placement of these requires confirmation. The main diagnostic features of Elaphria View in CoL is as referred for the tribe.
