Description. Color. Blackish brown, suffused with irregular paler and darker markings. Eyes black; first antennal segment, apex of fourth antennal segment, most of head beneath (except Ψ-shaped glabrous depression on head above), pronotum (except longitudinal depression), scutellum, hemelytron (except longitudinal darker and paler markings), most of metathoracic sternum, femora (except paler markings), each connexival segment (except irregular paler markings), abdomen beneath (except 5 longitudinally paler stripes) dark brown; inner-markings before middle of tibia and apex of tibia brown to dark brown ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ). Stripes on lateral sides of mesothoracic sterna blackish; second and third antennal segments, base of fourth antennal segment grayish; some irregular paler markings on hemelytron all grayish white.
Structure. Medium sized. Lateral margins of anteocular portion nearly parallel, lower margins of anteocular portion nearly straight; first antennal segment slightly shorter than anteocular portion, second antennal segment longer than first rostral segment; antennal tubercles corneous; inner antennal processes developed, apical part rounded and V-shaped separated anteriorly ( Figs. 1 View FIGURE 1 , 2 View FIGURES 2 – 13 ); lower margin of postocular portion with 3 nodular tubercles, anterior one biggest, posterior one smaller, middle one smallest and indistinct ( Figs. 1 View FIGURE 1 , 2 View FIGURES 2 – 13 ); first rostral segment reaching middle of eye, basal 1/3 of second rostral segment thick and apical 2/3 thin; anterior pronotal lobe shorter than posterior pronotal lobe, posterior portion of longitudinal depression on anterior pronotal lobe deeper, middle of posterior pronotal lobe with a wide, shallow depression, two carinae on each lateral side of the depression slender; lateral angles of posterior pronotal lobe papilla-shaped ( Figs. 1 View FIGURE 1 , 2 View FIGURES 2 – 13 ). Middle of scutellum longitudinally depressed. Posterior angle of each segment of abdomen distinctly protruded and upward ( Figs. 1 View FIGURE 1 , 3-5 View FIGURES 2 – 13 ). Paramere wider and compressed ( Figs. 8-10 View FIGURES 2 – 13 ); pygophore as shown in Figs. 6, 7 View FIGURES 2 – 13 . Phallus and phallosoma as shown in Figs. 11-13 View FIGURES 2 – 13 .

Body length 12.63; maximal width abdomen 3.75; length head 2.29; length anteocular part 1.18; length postocular part 0.58; length synthlipsis 0.68; interocellar space 0.41; length antennal segments I–IV = 1.0, 1.36, 0.18,0.56; length rostral segments I–III = 1.16, 0.46, 0.52; length anterior pronotal lobe 1.29; length posterior pronotal lobe 1.40; maximal width pronotum 2.81; length scutellum 0.96; length hemelytron 7.64.
Type material. Holotype, ɗ, China, Yunnan, Xishuangbanna, Mengla, Yaoqu, 620 m, 6. VI. 2006, Hesheng Wang leg., by light trap, kept in CAU.
Female: Unknown.
Distribution. China (Yunnan).
Etymology. The specific name is named in honor of Prof. Shimei Zhang of Jiangxi Agricultural University, Nanchang, for his great contribution to the study of Heteroptera and kind help in many ways in our study of Reduviidae .
Remarks. The new species is similar to A. papilla Zhao & Cai , but the new species is somewhat larger and duller, inner antennal processes developed, apical part rounded and V-shaped separated anteriorly (vs. the body a little smaller, inner antennal processes distinctly reflexed upwards and apex almost not separated in A. papilla ). The new species distinctly belongs to the acutangula group according the lateral angles of the posterior pronotal lobe with papilla-shaped processes, the body moderately large, the posterior angle of each connexival segment distinctly protruded.
