(Figs. 1,2,3,4)

Comments: This species is characterized by ferruginous maculae on the mesoscutum and by sparse punctures on the yellow bands of the metasoma. It can be distinguished from C. bidentatum by the predominantly black pilosity and from C. nigritum by having coxa, trochanter and base of femur black. The original description was based on only females; the male is described here for the first time.

Description of male. Coloration: Integument black with yellow maculae on the clypeus, supraclypeal area (pointed at middle) and paraocular area, just above antennal socket (fig.3). Lateral edges of vertex with ferruginous spots; antenna ferruginous. Mesosoma black, with a ferruginous reverse J-shaped macula on lateral and anterior edges of mesoscutum. Tegula and base of wings ferruginous, surface blackish from middle to apex (fig.1). Black and yellowish-red hairs present on interalveolar area and pronotal lobe. Legs ferruginous; coxae, trochanters and base of femora black. T1–T4 with wide light yellow bands, interrupted medially on T1 (fig. 4). Yellow metasomal bands with scattered black pilosity. T5–T7 black; apex of apical process of T7 slightly reddish.

Pilosity: Hairs longer than ocellar diameter, predominantly black; ferruginous areas on integument covered by yellowish-red hairs. Mid and hind legs with pilosity shorter and decumbent on the inner surface of coxae, trochanters and femora.

Structure: Head densely punctate; punctures coalescent; interalveolar area with shallow punctures. Clypeus and supraclypeal area with larger scattered punctures, distance between punctures twice as wide as puncture diameters; longitudinal middle area of clypeus and supraclypeal area smooth (fig. 3). Mesoscutum and scutellum with sparser punctures than head; distance between punctures about 1/3 of puncture diameter. Mesepisternum with sparser punctures than mesoscutum; distance between punctures as wide as puncture diameter; propodeal triangle micropunctate. Metasomal integument smooth; T1 with sparse punctures basally; punctures decreasing in size apically. T2–T4 with sparse punctures on yellow bands (fig. 4). T5–T7 with punctures homogeneous, similar to head punctures.
