( Figs. 3–4 View FIGURES 1 – 4 , 11 View FIGURES 9 – 12 )
Description. Holotype male. Dorsal color: Head and scutellum yellow; antennal segment I dirty yellow, segments II and III entirely dark reddish brown (IV mutilated); ocelli red; eyes dark reddish brown; pronotum yellow with humeral angles and wide trapezoidal area at posterior lobe dark reddish brown; clavus dark reddish brown; claval vein yellow, and apical third yellowish orange; corium dark reddish brown with costal margin, corial veins, and apical margin yellow; inner angle yellowish orange; hemelytral membrane yellow, translucent, with black basal angle; connexiva yellow; dorsal abdominal segments yellowish orange. Ventral color: Ground color shiny yellow; apex of rostral segment IV brown; femora, tibiae, and tarsi yellow, with scattered brown marks. Structure: Head smooth; inner margin of eye rounded, non-tuberculate; rostrum reaching middle of mesosternum; rostral segment I reaching anterior border of prosternum. Pronotal disk densely punctate, punctations small, dense, occasionally connected or fused; collar, anterior margin and calli smooth, non-punctate; anterior angles slightly exposed, rounded; anterolateral borders obliquely straight, laterally crenate; humeral angles acute, with blunt spine, pointing laterally slightly directed backwards; posterolateral borders and posterior border smooth, almost straight. Genital capsule. Posteroventral edge with two raised lateral proyections clearly open at posterior third and apically exposed and subacute ( Figs. 3–4 View FIGURES 1 – 4 ).
Measurements (mm). Head length 1.20, width across eyes 2.12, interocular space 1.05, interocellar space 0.21, preocular distance 0.76; length antennal segments I, 4.56, II, 3.44, III, 2.44, IV, mutilated. Pronotal length 2.56, width across humeral angles 4.35. Scutellar length 2.12, width 1.52. Body length 15.00.
Female. Habitus and color similar to male holotype. Antennal segment I dirty yellow, II to IV entirely dark reddish brown with purple reflections; dark areas of pronotal disk with purple reflections; basal half of fore tibiae dirty yellow, distal half brown; basal half of middle tibiae brown, apical half dirty yellow; connexival segments VIII–IX, and genital plates yellow; dorsal abdominal segments VIII–IX yellowish orange.

Pronotal length 2.36, width across humeral angles 4.75. Scutellar length 2.24, width 1.96. Body length 15.85.
Type material. Holotype, male, French Guyana, Kaw, Pk 37.5, Malaise, VIII-2001, J. Cerda ( UNAM). Paratype, 1 female, French Guyana, Piste de Kaw, Pk 37, Piege Luminaux, 6-X-2002, R. Garrouste ( MNHN).
Etymology. From the Latin adjective lepidus, a, um, meaning elegant, delicated.
Distribution. French Guyana.
Diagnosis. Cnemomis lepida sp. nov., is the only species of the genus which has blunt humeral spines, pointing laterally, slightly directed backwards, and having the pronotum yellow with wide dark reddish brown trapezoidal area covering great portion of the posterior lobe. In other species the humeral angles are obtuse or barely exposed, and the pronotal disks lack dark reddish brown trapezoidal areas.
