World distribution: Indonesia? [not India] ( Macquart 1838: 154; Oldroyd 1975: 128).

Note: No specimen base to confirm distribution in India. Previous records from India ( Lal 1960: 44; Joseph & Parui 1983a: 323) refers to the type locality, East Indies, which is considered a part of the islands of southeastern Asia not India.
