Original data: “ Length 9 to 10; breadth between pronotal angles 5½ to 6 millim.”; “ Hab. Bengal. Mysore ( Coll. Dist. ).” [syntypes (range of measurements and two localities)]
SYNTYPE ♁: blue-margined syntype disc; red-margined type disc; “Ranchi [capital of the recently founded Indian state of Jharkhand, a state situated in an area which was, at the time Distant described the species, part of what was then known as the Bengal Presidency]; Irvine.”; “ parva Dist. [Distant’s handwriting]”; “Distant Coll. 1911–383.”; “NHMUK 010592179”. Carded specimen. Second to fifth left antennomeres, and legs (except the left middle one) missing ( Fig. 145 View FIGURES 145–152 ) .
SYNTYPE ♁: blue-margined syntype disc; “Bangalore [also Bengaluru, Karnataka. Karnataka was originally known as the state of Mysore and was renamed in 1973] Cameron.”; “Distant Coll. 1911–383.”; “NHMUK 010592299”. Fourth and fifth left antennomeres, and right anterior leg missing ( Fig. 146 View FIGURES 145–152 ) .
Current status: Eocanthecona parva ( Distant, 1902) (see Thomas 1994: 177).
