Epiracma longicaudata Wang , sp. nov.
( Figs. 5 View FIGURES 1 − 6 , 10 View FIGURES 7 − 11 )
Type material. Holotype: ♂, Taiwan: Taoyuan Shang Palin, 1400 m, 6−7 III 2000, coll. W. Speidel, genitalia slide No. YAH13065 ( MNHU).
Diagnosis. Epiracma longicaudata is similar to E. aedeagifera (Wang, Liu et Li, 2002) in both appearance and genitalia, but can be distinguished by the valva with distal 2/3 roundly dilated, the aedeagus nearly twice the length of the valva, the lobes of the juxta lacking the long hairs; in E. aedeagifera, the valva is elliptically dilated in distal 2/3, the aedeagus is about the same length as the valva, and the lobes of the juxa bear long hairs.
Description. Imago ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1 − 6 ). Wingspan 19.0 mm. Head pale yellow. Labial palpus pale ocherous yellow. Antenna with ventral surface pale yellow, dorsal surface pale ochreous yellow tinged with yellowish brown on scape, alternately pale yellow and yellowish brown on flagellum. Thorax and tegula yellowish brown. Forewing with costal margin arched, apex protruded, termen oblique; ochreous yellow tinged with yellowish brown, with a yellowish brown stripe extending from upper angle of cell to before tornus; cilia ochreous yellow, lined with yellowish brown at basal 1/4 and at 3/4. Hindwing dark brown; cilia dark brown tinged with pale yellow. Legs pale yellow, tarsi intermixed with dark brown speckles on outer surface, forelegs yellowish brown on ventral surface of femora, fore- and midlegs yellowish brown on outer surface of tibiae.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 7 − 11 ). Gnathos broad subtriangular, narrowly folded and densely spinulous laterally. Tegumen inverted U shaped, with two branches nearly same width. Valva with basal 1/3 narrow, parallel sided, distal 2/3 roundly dilated, with long dense hairs. Sacculus with basal half triangular, distal half narrowed, curved, heavily sclerotized, pointed at apex. Saccus triangular, rounded anteriorly. Juxta with basal 3/5 quadrate, distal 2/5 deeply and widely concave, with digitate lateral lobes. Aedeagus longer than valva, basal 1/6 thin stick-like, equally thick from basal 1/6 to 1/2, distal 1/2 curved, tufted with dense short thorns.
Female. Unknown.
Distribution. China ( Taiwan).
Etymology. The specific name is from the Latin longicaudatus, referring to long aedeagus rattailed distally.
