Distribution and habitat: — Brazil ( Bahia , in the Catolés region and Serra do Sincorá in the Chapada Diamantina ). Campo rupestre, rarely in cerrado; 400–1700 m.

Taxonomic Notes: —A very common species, which is marked by an ochraceous indument and 5–12-flowered capitula. It can be confused with Paralychnophora bicolor and P. glaziouana : see these species for a discussion of the differences.
