Geostelletta Cárdenas, Xavier, Reveillaud, Schander & Rapp, 2011: 7 .
This ‘genus’ was erected under the rules of the Phylocode, which does not recognize ranks or type species. The ‘definition’ of Geostelletta is quoted from the original paper: ‘(nomen cladi novum) branch-based: the most inclusive clade containing Geodia tuberosa (Topsent, 1892) View in CoL and not Geodia phlegraei Sollas, 1880 View in CoL and Geodia angulata Von Lendenfeld, 1910 View in CoL ’. The ‘genus’ name is here considered unavailable, even though encompassing at least two named species, Geodia robusta Von Lendenfeld, 1907 View in CoL and Ecionemia sp. These species are to be reverted to genus Geodia View in CoL . Phylocode and Linnean classifications show fundamental differences. The WPD and WoRMS have committed themselves to the latter.
