Homoneura (Neohomoneura) nebulosa, Sasakawa, 2001 View in CoL
( Fig. 28, 29 View FIGURES 19 – 33 )
Homoneura (Neohomoneura) nebulosa, Sasakawa, 2001: 72 View in CoL . Type locality: Vietnam.
Diagnosis. Wing: male entirely pale brown; female pale yellow with brown spots on R2+3, R4+5 and M1 confluent and forming a wide transverse band, extending to tip of vein; apical spots on R2+3 and R4+5 with basal extremities before vertical level of dm-cu; apical spot on M1 extending to hind margin, with a small hyaline area beyond dm-cu. Abdominal tergites 2–6 each with black posterior margin.
Description. MALE. Body length 4.4–4.8 mm, wing length 3.8–4.0 mm. FEMALE. Body length 5.0– 5.5 mm, wing length 4.3–4.5 mm.
Head yellow. Frons about as long as wide and parallel–sided, with two brown stripes extending to ocellar triangle; ocellar triangle yellow; oc developed, slightly longer than anterior or; gena about 1/5 height of eye. Antenna yellow, 1st flagellomere 2.2 times as long as high; arista dark except brownish base, with longest setula slightly shorter than height of 1st flagellomere. Proboscis yellow, with yellowish and blackish setulae; palpus yellow, with dark setulae.
Thorax brownish yellow. Mesonotum with 0+3 dc, acr in 8 rows, and prsc longer than anteriormost dc. 1 strong sa with a long and thin setula (far shorter than 1/2 length of sa) behind sa. Legs yellow. Fore femur with 4 strong pv, 8 pd, and ctenidium with 11–12 short setae; fore tibia with 1 long preapical ad and 1 short apv. Mid femur with 5–7 a and 1 app; mid tibia with 1 strong preapical ad, 5–6 short p and 3 apv (2 strong, 1 weak). Hind femur with 1 preapical ad; hind tibia with 1 weak preapical ad and 1 short apv. Wing ( Figs. 28, 29 View FIGURES 19 – 33 ): male yellowish brown; female pale yellow with brown spots on R2+3, R4+5 and M1 confluent and forming a wide transverse band, extending to tip of vein; apical spots on R2+3 and R4+5 with basal extremities before vertical level of dm-cu; apical spot on M1 extending to hind margin, with a small hyaline area beyond dm-cu; a wide brown stripe–like spot on dm-cu; subcostal cell hyaline; costa with 2nd (between R1 and R2+3), 3rd (between R2+3 and R4+5) and 4th (between R4+5 and M1) sections in proportion of 1.9 mm: 0.6 mm: 0.5 mm; r-m before middle of discal cell; ultimate and penultimate sections of M 1 in proportion of 1.2 mm: 1.8 mm; ultimate section of CuA1 about 1/5 of penultimate. Halter yellow.
Abdomen yellow, tergites 2–6 each with black posterior margin. Male genitalia (See Sasakawa, 2001: fig. 21): protandrium semicircular with dorsal setulae and a small posterior dorsal median incision; epandrium slightly constricted on apical margin, with two pairs of long dorsal setae; surstylus consisting of a broad triangular ventral process and a narrow claviform process, with tiny setulae covered on surface of two processes and claviform process with a small apical hairy area in posterior view; hypandrium H–shaped, gonopod subuliform with a subbasal setula; aedeagus with a pair of curved subuliform dorsal sclerites, converged apically; aedeagal apodeme shorter than aedeagus.
Material examined. CHINA, Guangxi Province: 3 3 ( CAUC), Jinxiu, Yinshan, 27. VII. 2005, Yajun Zhu; 25 3, 14 Ƥ ( CAUC), Jinxiu, Dayaoshan National Nature Reserve, Longjunshan, 28–29, VII. 2005, Yajun Zhu; 30 3, 30 Ƥ ( CAUC), Jinxiu, Hekou, 27. IX. 27, Yinxia Liao.
Distribution. China (Guangxi), Vietnam.
Remarks. The species is very similar to Homoneura (Neohomoneura) grandipunctata Gao & Yang from China in the following characters: wing pattern similar, protandrium semicircular, surstylus consisting of two processes. But it can be separated from the latter by a triangular ventral process and a narrow claviform process of the surstylus being larger; the claviform process having a small apical hairy area in the posterior view; the aedeagal apodeme being shorter than 2/3 length of the aedeagus. In H. (N.) grandipunctata , a triangular ventral process and a narrow claviform process of the surstylus are smaller than those of H. (N.) nebulosa , the claviform process lacks the apical hairy area in the posterior view; the aedeagal apodeme is longer than 2/3 length of the aedeagus ( Gao & Yang, 2006; Sasakawa, 2001).
