1. Blanchetia coronata (Barroso) Loeuille & Pirani View in CoL in Loeuille et al. (2014: 1). Irwinia coronata Barroso (1980: 11) . Type:— BRAZIL. Bahia : ca. 28 km N de Seabra, estrada para Água de Rega, 1000 m.s.m., 27 February 1971, H. S. Irwin et al. 31174 (holotype: RB [mounted on two sheets: RB00283069, RB00544836]; isotypes: C e! [C10007580], F e! [F1821047], K e! [K000068459], NY [NY00180244], US [ US 00147168]).
Distribution and habitat: — Brazil ( Bahia ). Caatinga, gallery forest and secondary forest; up to 1000 m.
Taxonomic notes: —A rarely collected species, easily set apart from Blanchetia heterotricha by its subscandent habit (vs. erect), number of florets per capitulum (5 vs. 8–10) and biseriate pappus.
