Nomenclatural notes: —The indicatio locotypica indicated by Hieronymus (1900) reads: “Crescit ad radices montis Chimborazo prope vicum Mocha et in valle Pallatanga (S. n. 59/17)”. We found two specimens matching Sodiro’s collector number. The first one is kept at QPLS and was collected “prop. pagum La Mocha”. The second one (MO-714296) is a plant fragment along with a picture of the destroyed specimen that was kept at B. The original label exactly included the locality indication as it appears in the protologue. Although this slight difference on the information regarding the locality, both specimens are considered duplicates. We lectotypify the name S. mochensis Hieronymus (1900: 68) on the specimen QPLS-211020 because it is a complete specimen.
