Lavatera rupestris

Pomel (1875: 343) provided a long diagnosis (in French) of L. rupestris , also giving the flowering time (“ Fl. mai, juin ”), the habitat (“ Rochers dolomitiques ”), and the provenance (“ Garrouban ”). There is one sheet at MPU (Pomel’s collection, barcode 005784) that bears a plant and three labels; one label reports “ Lavatera rupestris Pomel ...O. Ghar- Roubon, rochers dolomitiquies (Pomel) ”. This specimen matches the diagnosis, it clearly is part of the original material, and is here designated as the lectotype of the name Lavatera rupestris .
