Range: —Greater and Lesser Antilles; Costa Rica to the Guianas and Bolivia (CO, SC).
Ecology: —Rare, known from two Bolivian collections; epiphytic in humid forests; 550–700 m.
Notes: —The habit of this species can vary considerably with size, ranging from erect individuals 6 cm tall, with pinnae 2.5 times longer than broad, to pendulous ones 35 cm long, with pinnae 5 times longer than broad. The latter form has been called Grammitis subcapillaris , but there are intergradations between the forms.
