8. Lychnophorella sericea (Hind) Loeuille, Semir & Pirani View in CoL , comb. nov. Lychnophora sericea Hind (200b: 394). Type:— BRAZIL. Bahia : Rio de Contas, topo do Pico de Itobira, 13°22’07”S, 41°53’03”W, 1800 m, 15 November 1996, R.M. Harley PCD 4308 (holotype: ALCB [ALCB033917]; isotypes: CEPEC e! [CEPEC76149], HUEFS [HUEFS29523], K e! [K000054552], SPF [SPF125116]).

Distribution and habitat: — Brazil ( Bahia , endemic to the Abaíra and Rio de Contas regions). Campo rupestre; 1800– 1870 m.

Taxonomic Notes: —A rarely collected species. The persistent sericeous leaf indumentum on the adaxial surface is a remarkable feature. Similar to Lychnophorella triflora , but the adaxial surface of the leaves of that species is essentially glabrous.
