Manicocoris rufipes ( Fabricius, 1787) View in CoL
GilSantana et al. (2002) synonymyzed Paramanicocoris Lima, Hathaway & Seabra, 1948, under Manicocoris Stål, 1866 , so the genus now contains two species: M. rufipes and M. rubroniger ( Lima, Hathaway & Seabra, 1948). M. rufipes was described from French Guiana and recorded additionally from Colombia, Guyana, and Brazil ( Maldonado 1990; GilSantana et al. 2002, 2003). This species is restricted to the Amazon basin, and it seems to be associated with Caesalpiniaceae species ( Bérenger & PluotSigwalt 1997). Precise localities from Colombia are given for the first time.
