Type material. Holotype, ♂: AUSTRALIA: Northern Territory, Mataranka , 14°53ˈS 132°01ˈE, 18.12.2008, Sv. Bílý leg. ( MAGNT).

Description. Body ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 ) dark reddish-brown, antennae and legs slightly lighter, head and pronotum matt, elytra and composite tergite with rugose microsculpture, shiny. Length 1.76 mm, maximum width of elytra 0.68 mm.

Head widest across eyes, 1.47 as long as wide, rostrum projecting and straight, slightly expanded from base to apex, temples slightly longer than diameter of eyes. Antennae long, with six antennomeres, scape minuscule, hardly visible dorsally, II −III subequal in length, II slightly wider, slightly more robust, IV 1.2 times shorter than II, antennomeres V −VI with strong lateral, inner projection, 1.15 times as long as wide, VI strongly constricted in basal third, 1.18 times as long as V, apex of antennomeres V and VI truncate with dense tuft of golden setae, relative lengths of antennomeres II −VI: 1.2–1.3–1.0–2.0–1.7.

Pronotum about as long as wide, with basal median fovea.

Elytra 1.4 times as long and twice as wide as pronotum.

Abdomen 0.8 times as long as elytra, composite tergite (IV −VI) convex, raised disc smooth, shiny with few uneven punctures, surface around disc unevenly longitudinaly striated, posterior tergites not visible in dorsal view.

Aedeagus ( Figs. 2−3 View FIGURES 2 – 3 ) 0.37 mm long, basal bulb 2.8 times as long as apical lobe which is strongly narrowed to pointed apex, internal sclerite bifurcate, dorsal phallobase diaphragm oval, covering about two third of length of basal bulb.

Sexual dimorphism. Female unknown.

Biology: the only known specimen was collected at ultraviolet light.

Distribution. Australia (Northern Territory).

Etymology. Patronymic, dedicated to Svatopluk Bíly (Prague), a well-known specialist on Buprestidae and the collector of the holotype.
