Distribution. Endemic to the Yemeni island of Suqutra. New records. Yemen: Suqutra Is., Ras Shonah, 1899, O. Simons coll. 1 ex. (HNHM).
Remarks. The relationships of the Afrotropical species of the genus Meloe were clarified by Bologna &
Pinto (1998).
