Range: —Disjunct in montane valleys from Ecuador to Bolivia (CO).
Ecology: —Rare, known from five Bolivian collections; epiphytic on tree trunks or saxicolous, in evergreen forests with Podocarpus and Myrtaceae ; 2600–3050 m.
Notes: —This species is easily recognizable by the monomorphic linear fronds and flattened rhizomes covered with bicolored, erose scales.
