Mirafra malbranti Chapin, 1946: 7 (30 km. south of Djambala, French Congo).
Now Mirafra africana malbranti Chapin, 1946 View in CoL . See Keith et al., 1992: 23.
HOLOTYPE: AMNH 308622 About AMNH , adult male, collected 30 km south of Djambala , 02°32′S, 14°43′E (Times Atlas), Congo (Brazzaville), on 29 September 1942, by Dr. René Malbrant. GoogleMaps
COMMENTS: Chapin cited the AMNH number in the original description and mentioned that he had three specimens of this form, in addition to the holotype. Two were collected by Malbrant: AMNH 308621 About AMNH , with the same data as the holotype, was cataloged (but I did not find it), and AMNH 308623 About AMNH , a male collected at Ossélé on 26 September 1942. Chapin also had on loan a specimen collected by Lynes at Kilembe GoogleMaps ; this specimen is RMCA no. 28137 ( Louette et al., 2002: 27). These three specimens are paratypes .
