Description. Forewings 2.4 times longer than wide, length in male about 3.7 mm. Colour stramineous to light brown. Forewings slightly powdered, colourless, veins stramineous. Forewings with Sc+R fork before middle of wing; bases of Cu1 and Ms1 connected by a very short cross-vein; Ms1 branched just distad of apex of basal median cell; base of Ms1a angulated and connected to M by a cross-vein. Hindwings with apex of R branched. Pygofer slightly and roundly produced at the sides. Apical portion of aedeagus very short, nearly triangular in dorsal view.
Etymology. The species name is a Latin adjective ( vetus = old) which remains unchanged in all gender forms.
Type material. Holotype ♂ (forewing 3.7 mm), INDONESIA: JAVA; labels: 1) Java/ Buitenzorg/ F. Muir 2) IV.14 ( BPBM).
Distribution. Java.
Diagnosis. Muiralevu vetus is characterized by the colourless body and forewings, by the pygofer lacking pointed lateral projections and by the short, triangular apical part of the male aedeagus.
