Material examined. COSTA RICA: Puntarenas: 1♀ Rancho Quemado, 200m, Peninsula de Osa , K. Flores, Abr 1992, L-S 292500, 511000 ( INBio) .

Measurements. Antennomeres length: 1st: 0.5; 2nd: 1.1; 3rd: 1.5–2.0; 4th: 3.0–3.5; 5th: 2.4–3.4; head length: 1.4–2.2; head width: 2.5–2.9; pronotal length: 2.8–3.7; pronotal width: 8.4–10.0; scutellum length: 6.0–7.5; scutellum width: 4.8–5.7; abdominal width: 7.4–9.1; total length: 12.7–15.8.

Etymology. Name given by the locality where the types were collected, the Peninsula of Osa.

Diagnosis. Antennae light brown ( Fig. 1 F). Humeral angles apices and posterolateral margins covered by a black spot ( Fig. 1 F). Corium with veins almost forming a “Y” close to a big spot ( Fig. 1 F). Connexival segments green with brown spots on excavations; sixth and seventh segments with black spots; last segment with anterior and posterior black stripes ( Fig. 1 F). Ventral surface greenish yellow ( Fig. 2 F). Propleura with black lines around the base of procoxae ( Fig. 2 F). Male: parameres spearhead-shaped, swollen, very wide, the inner margin is rounded and the outer is straight, apex posterodorsally directed ( Fig. 9 D, E); superior process of the genital cup very big, triangular, apex posterodorsally directed ( Fig. 9 D, E). Female genital plates: valvifers VIII lateral and distal margins straight; mesial borders “V” shaped; medial excavation as wide as valvifers IX ( Fig. 9 F).

Description. Head. Apex of mandibular plates slightly darker than the rest. Antennal segments formula: IV>V>III>II>I; segment V almost equal in length to the IV.

Thorax. Pronotum with shallow and concolorous punctation ( Fig. 1 F). Scutellum with shallow and concolorous punctation on anterior region, deep and black punctation on posterior ( Fig. 1 F). Corium lateral margins green ( Fig. 1 F). Membrane of hemelytra light brown ( Fig. 1 F). Ventral surface with shallow and dark punctation ( Fig. 2 F). Metasternal process elevated anteriorly; anterior arms wide, with rounded apices, receiving only the last segment of the rostrum ( Fig. 9 C). Legs yellow ( Fig. 2 F).

Abdomen. Distal part of seventh abdominal segment with black spot covering ½ of the segment ( Fig. 1 F). Ventral surface with region between segments and pseudosutures brown to dark brown ( Fig. 2 F).

Male ( Fig. 9 A, B, D, E). Pygophore. Superior process of the genital cup black, flattened, visible in dorsal view ( Fig. 9 A, D, E). Proctiger strongly excavated on laterals, excavation with long setae; dorsal face delimited by a big, light brown and triangular carina; posterior face subtriangular and wrinkly ( Fig. 9 D, E). Ventral rim with bottom of excavation straight; with dark medial spot ( Fig. 9 B, D, E).

Female ( Fig. 9 F). Valvifers VIII strongly punctate and setose; margin of valvulae VIII visible; slightly projected towards the base of laterotergites IX; lateral and distal margins straight ( Fig. 9 F). Valvifers IX notched ( Fig. 9 F). Laterotergites VIII borders covered by a black stripe ( Fig. 9 F). Laterotergites IX swollen, setose; almost level with seventh segment ( Fig. 9 F).
