status

Oncocephalus gularis Reuter, 1882 View in CoL is strictly an Iberian endemic.

Rhynocoris erythropus (Linnaeus, 1767) View in CoL , mentioned by Wagner (1959), is a western Mediterranean species; previous records from the Balkan Peninsula, Ukraine, Caucasus, and Egypt were not confirmed recently ( Putshkov and Putshkov, 1996; Putshkov and Moulet, 2010). Its occurrence in Turkey is quite unlikely, and the published records should be revised.

Rhynocoris rubricus (Germar, 1814) View in CoL , a species known only in Italy and former Yugoslavia, was first mentioned by Horváth (1905) and later by Hoberlandt (1956), but these records are erroneous.

Rhynocoris monticola (Oshanin, 1871) View in CoL is distributed in Central Asia; the records by Horváth (1901) are erroneous ( Putshkov and Putshkov, 1996).

Peirates stridulus (Fabricius, 1787) View in CoL was mentioned by Coscarón (1997) from Asian Turkey, but according to Putshkov and Moulet (2010), the record of this western Mediterranean species (unknown in Italy and Greece) should be revised.

The mention of Ischnonyctes barbarus (Lucas, 1849) by Hoberlandt (1956) is based on misidentified Metapterus
