Pecluma divaricata (E.Fourn.) Mickel & Beitel, Mem. View in CoL New York Bot. Gard. 46: 269. 1988.
= Polypodium divaricatum E.Fourn., Mexic. Pl. View in CoL 1: 180. 1872.
= Polypodium bolivianum Rosenst., Repert. View in CoL Spec. Nov. Regni Veg. 5: 236. 1908.
= Polypodium bolivianum Rosenst. var. brevipes Rosenst., Repert. View in CoL Spec. Nov. Regni Veg. 12: 473. 1913.
Range: —Southern Mexico to Panama; Venezuela to Bolivia ( CH, CO, LP, SC).
Ecology: —Common; epiphytic and less commonly saxicolous in humid forests; 1100–3050 m.
Notes: —This species may be confused with P. eurybasis , which is generally smaller and has more strongly reduced basal pinnae, and P. robusta , which has a gradually reduced laminar base and patches of erect hairs around the sori. In Bolivia, P. divaricata is variable, with glabrous or hairy sporangia, rachises, and blade surfaces, and entire to setose rhizome scales. It may comprise a species complex.
