Eurytoma caridei Brèthes (in Massini, P.C.) 1917: 376. Lectotype, female, here designated.

Type material. The lectotype ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 7 – 12. 7 ) is labeled: “Cordoba, I.1916, Caride/ Eurytoma caridei Brèthes [handwritten], Phylloxeroxenus caridei (Brèthes) Lectotype female [red].” A female paralectotype has identical label data. Both conspecific specimens are poorly mounted and much of their ventral surface is embedded in glue. A single antenna is slide mounted, labeled: “ Eurytoma caridei Brèthes , Type!, 206, Hym” handwritten on the left side and a typed “E 31” tag on the upper right ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 6. 1 ).

Nomenclature and notes. Upon examination of the type specimens, this species clearly belongs in Phylloxeroxenus Ashmead , based on characters presented by Lotfalizadeh et al. (2007) to define the genus, including non-impressed epicnemium, acarinate procoxae, and carinate first gastral sternum and petiole, etc.
