Bulimus subglandiformis Mousson 1873: 6 . Type locality: Colombia, Bogotá. Lectotype ZMUZ 511633 ( Breure 1976). Plekocheilus subglandiformis (Mousson) ; Richardson 1995: 321 (references, synonymy); Neubert and Janssen 2004: 230, pl. 1 fig. 2; Simone, 2006: 150, fig. 506.

Material. Antioquia, Sonsón, Wallis leg.: SMF 21603 (ex W. Kobelt); Frontina [Frontino] ( ZMUZ 233 [sic = 511632, see remarks]) ( Simone, 2006);?Cundinamarca, “Bogota”: ZMUZ 511633.?, U.S. of Colombia: USNM 316120 (ex Henderson Colln, ex Evezard Colln); Columbia: ZMUZ 511631 (not seen).

Remarks. The specimen pictured by Neubert and Janssen (2004) does not show the characteristic marbled band below the suture, consisting of brown spots that fade into yellowish; these yellowish spots may continue in waving, axial bands. If the ZMUZ and SMF specimens originate from the same series, which Neubert and Janssen consider “very probable,” the specimens in SMF could be regarded as paralectotypes. However, it should be noted that their specimen is from “ Antigua [sic, most probably Antioquia], Sonsón,” while Mousson’s specimen in ZMUZ is labelled with “Bogota.” Also, Breure’s (1976) statement of a “unique specimen ZMUZ 511633” is in error, for two reasons: (1) we have a file of material at ZMUZ, listing three lots as P. subglandiformis (511631,“ Columbia;” 511632, “ Frontina ” and 511633, “Bogotá” [lectotype]); (2) Simone (2006: 150, fig. 506) shows two specimens from ZMUZ, the lectotype (cited in error as ZMUZ 233), and the specimen from Frontina (cited in error as ZMUZ 233). Mousson only mentions Bogotá in his paper ( Mousson 1873: 1), without giving further details on (other) localities in his description.
