Composition. Poecilocricus singularis Schubart, 1962a View in CoL ; P. mataraca sp. nov.; P. vazante sp. nov.; P. itacarambiensis sp. nov. and P. lina sp. nov..
Poecilocricus singularis Schubart, 1962a View in CoL ( Figs. 5 View Fig , 6 View Fig , and 13).
Type material. Poecilocricus singularis Schubart, 1962a: 265–268 , Figs. 1–7 View Fig View Fig View Fig View Fig View Fig View Fig View Fig . Male holotype, from BRAZIL, Bahia, Feira de Sant’Ana (currently Feira de Santana), Chana Malagolowskin [sic Chana Malogolowkin] leg., deposited in MZSP (1154), examined. Marek et al., 2003: 44.
Additional material examined. BRAZIL: Bahia, Feira de Santana , (38°58′00″ W, 12°16′00″ S), two males, one female, same data of holotype ( MZSP 1145 View Materials ) GoogleMaps .
Diagnosis. Poecilocricus singularis resembles Poecilocricus mataraca sp. nov. by the shape of anterior gonopod which has an extremely short sternite ( Figs. 5e View Fig and 6a View Fig ); telopodite with an elongated and narrow lobule ( Figs. 5e, f View Fig , and 6a, b View Fig ); lateral border of coxite is constricted and length of medial portion is shortened ( Figs. 5e View Fig and 6a View Fig ), but differs by the shape of sternite of the anterior gonopod which is rectangular ( Figs. 5e View Fig and 6a View Fig ); apex of coxite is very rounded and telopodite is oval. Telopodite of the posterior gonopod slightly curved with inner branch shortened ( Figs. 5d View Fig and 6c View Fig ).
Redescription. Male (MZSP 1145) ( Fig. 5a–c View Fig ) with 53p + 2a + T. Total length 57.0 mm. Total width 7.6 mm. Coloration in alcohol: head gray, antennae grayish brown, with numerous apical sensory cones. Collum edge yellowish, in median portion reddish brown. Prozonites gray; metazonites reddish brown with yellowish posterior margin. Legs and telson grayish brown. Ozopores beginning at the sixth body ring. Scobinae semicircular, beginning at seventh ring. Telson with epiproct not surpassing the paraprocts. Hypoproct semicircular. Leg pairs 3–7 of male ( Figs. 1e–g View Fig and 5b View Fig ). coxae of leg pair 3 expanded into a large process and with pointed apex with short setae. Coxae of leg pair 4 without setae on apex; process of coxae of leg pair 5 is longer than process of coxae of leg pairs 3 and 4; its apex is rounded. Coxae of leg pair 6 expanded into a large process with apex truncated. Process of coxae of leg pair 7 is similar to coxae of leg pair 5. Gonopods ( Figs. 5d–f View Fig and 6a–c View Fig ). Anterior gonopod wider than long, sternite extremely short relative to coxite and telopodite, base large, in the medial portion with apex pointed. Coxite rounded constricted in the lateral portion, in the medial portion presence of round bulge at both sides. Telopodite oval and short with a distal thin and truncated lobule. Telopodite of the posterior gonopod distally slightly curved and split in three short branches. The external branch is bifurcated in a shortened inner branch and in a thin and curved outer branch. Solenomere lanceolated.
Female. (MZSP 1145) coloration as in male. With 54p + 1a + T. Total length 65.0 mm. Total width 8.4 mm.
Distribution. Known only from the type locality.
