Serpocaulon levigatum (Cav.) A.R.Sm. View in CoL , Taxon 55(4): 928. 2006.
= Polypodium levigatum Cav., Descr. Pl. (Cavanilles) 244. 1802.
Range: — Guadeloupe; Costa Rica to Bolivia (CO, LP, SC), Brazil.
Ecology: —Very common; epiphytic, less commonly terrestrial and on rocks, in humid forests; 850–2700 m.
Notes: —Most easily mistaken for a species of Campyloneurum (e.g., C. repens ), but differs by having 1 (vs. 2) row of sori between the primary lateral veins. The spelling of the epithet is often emended to S. laevigatum , but the original spelling stands.
