Type:— MADAGASCAR. “ District de Vatomandry , forêt de copaliers”, 1 February 1904, J. Guillot 65 (lectotype, G, barcode G00446407 , designated here; isolectotypes, K, barcode K000033233 , P, barcode P03958744 ) .
Notes:—The description in Candolle (1830) was based on, and referred to, a manuscript by Richard (1830) in which a collection by Chapelier was cited. The lectotype P 00518091 was annotated by Richard and constitutes original material.
When Hochreutiner (1908: 96) described Pyrostria obovata he did not indicate in which herbarium the type was deposited, and since there are duplicates of Guillot 65 the specimen with barcode G 00446407 is here designated as the lectotype for this name.
