Rhinoncomimus rubripes Korotyaev, 2006: 108 (type locality: China, W. Hupeh, Leong-ho-kow, Lichuan)

Distribution. China (Central: Hubei).

Biological notes. Plant association remains unknown.

Comments. The species was described based on single female specimen and the original description strongly suggested its similarity to Rh. niger , which occurs also around the type locality of Rh. rubripes . In this study, a long series of Rh. niger specimens examined from northern Japan to southern China show considerable variation in external morphology, thus indicating that Rh. rubripes might be a junior synonym of Rh. niger . Since the type specimen is not available at present, Rh. rubripes continues to be treated as a valid species.
