Rhynchopsota View in CoL Lower (Figs 72–79)
The eggs of one of the two species in this genus are described. They have the unusual feature of the regular arrangement of the cells into longitudinal rows (Figs 73, 75 & 76), a characteristic more common in boarmiine, caberine and sterrhine eggs (see below). However this feature was also noted in three Amelora species (see above) and Melanodes Guenée (see below). Rhynchopsota also shares the following features in common with Amelora : conspicuous, domed aeropyles (Figs 77 & 78) and heavily ridged and sculpted chorion (Figs 77–79). The eggs of R. rhynchophora Turner illustrated by McFarland (1973, 1988), appear similar in general form. McFarland also commented that the eggs of this species are often inserted under the small epidermal flakes present on the foliage of Allocasuarina L. Johnson spp ..
