Materials examined. Two males and one female; Hill in the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Island .
Diagnosis. This species is characterized by antenna 1 reaching almost to the distal end of the peduncle of antenna 2; the shape of the gill of pereopod 6; pleopod 3 is reduced to a short, slender peduncle, which bears a one-segmented inner ramus, usually armed with a single, plumose seta.
Habitat. T. topitotum is widespread ( India, Sri Lanka, Hawaii, USA, Brazil, Australia and Europe) and is usually found in greenhouses, forests and warm moist environments.
