(Figs 15–16)

Type material. Holotype. Male, S. Sulawesi Prov, 20 km NE of Sabang , 2.28.56S 120.12.00E, 400 m, 5.–7. July 2001, Bolm lgt. ( LMBC) . Paratypes. 1 male, 2 females, ditto ( LMBC) .

Differential diagnosis. W. obstinata is easily recognizable by the light brown coloration of the pronotum and elytra and slightly infuscate apex. It differs in the color pattern from both brightly yellow species W. amporiwensis and W. aurea and all uniformly black species. The phallus is simple, without any rotation of the apical part (Figs 15–16).

Description. Body small to medium-sized, thorax and head light brown, abdomen slightly darker, elytra lighter at humeri, slightly darker in posterior part. Head small, partly hidden by pronotum, eyes large, hemispherically prominent, frontal interocular distance 0.70 times maximum eye diameter. Antennae compressed, antennomere 3 2.4 times longer than width. Pronotum flat, 1.24 times wider than long, with well developed carinae, disc darker than margins and carinae, frontal margin light testaceous, with sparse deep punctures, irregular rows of punctures also at lateral margins, whole disc covered with short, fine, dense pubescence. Elytra parallel-sided, 3.35 times longer than width at humeri, reticulate cells irregular, often rounded. Phallus quite slender, widened at base, symmetrical, apical third slightly widened, complex spine at base of phallus (Figs 15–16).

Measurements. BL 5.42 mm, HW 1.30 mm, PL 0.74 mm, PW 0.92 mm, EL 4.35 mm, Ediam 0.44 mm, Edist 0.31 mm.

Distribution. Sulawesi.

Etymology. This species is well defined by the shape of the male genitalia and coloration. The specific epithet, ‘ obstinatus ’ means firmly resolved and it refers to this fact.
