Description of Kribbella antibiotica RK View in CoL View at ENA 4Y-2-4

Cells are Gram­staining­positive, non­flagellated and rod­shaped. Colonies are punctiform, dry, flat and whitecolored after 2 days on R2A at 30°C. Positive for urease, esculin hydrolysis, gelatinase and β­galactosidase in API 20NE but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation and arginine dihydrolase. L-Arabinose, D-mannitol, D-mannose, N-acetyl-glucosamine and D-maltose are utilized. Does not utilize D-glucose, gluconate, caprate, adipate, malate, citrate and phenylacetate. Strain RK 4Y-2-4 (= NIBRBA0000114877) has been isolated from ginseng soil, Anseong, Korea.
