Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimens photographed at Lissenung Island, Kavieng region by Dietmar Amon on 28 June 2009.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: South China Sea to New Guinea, east to Solomon Islands, south to northern Australia and New Caledonia. Found on sand bottoms adjacent to coral reefs, commensal with sea anemones, 2–20 m depth. Marine.
