This species was only recently distinguished from Aprionus betulae Jaschhof, 1996 ( Jaschhof 2015a) . Previous distribution. Germany ( Jaschhof 2015a). Occurrence in Sweden: Öland.

Specimen studied. SWEDEN: male (CEC216), Öland, Borgholm, Rönnerum-Abbantorp NR, swampy mixed deciduous forest, 17 June–15 July 2015, Malaise trap, M. & C. Jaschhof.
