Male genitalia. Pygofer in lateral view broad in distal ¾, caudal margin angulate with tuft of short setae distally (Fig. 40); right subgenital plate long, narrow, setaceous in distal 1/5 (Fig. 41); style long, slightly longer than aedeagus, sinuate in dorsal view, apophysis attenuated in lateral view (Figs. 42, 43); aedeagus long, tubular, sinuate in lateral view, with prominent long curved spine medially, tuft of short spines below (Figs. 44, 45); connective broadly Y-shaped, short stem, ribbed medially, membranous on each side of middle (Fig. 46); dorsal connective long, narrow (Fig. 47).

Material examined. Holotype male. COLOMBIA: Meta, PNN, Macarana Cabãna Cerrillo , 3º21’N – 73º56W, 460 m., 3 Jan 02-3 Jan 02, M.2613. Pan trap, D. Campos. ( IAHC). GoogleMaps

Etymology. The name is descriptive for the very long, slender curved spine on the middle of the aedeagal shaft.

Remarks. B. elongata is nearest to B. aurata and can be easily distinguished from all other species of Bolidiana by the very long spine on the aedeagus (Fig. 44).
