Cenomanocarcinus oklahomensis ( Rathbun, 1935) View in CoL

Remarks

Necrocarcinus oklahomensis Rathbun, 1935 ( Rathbun 1935: 44, pl. 11, fig. 9; see also Fraaije 2002: 913), upper Albian of the Western Interior ( USA), was transferred to Cenomanocarcinus View in CoL by Van Straelen (1936: 39), Stenzel (1945: 449), then by Förster (1968: 169, 176), Schweitzer et al. (2003a: 36), and Vega et al. (2007: 412, 417). The species is known by the holotype only, with a carapace characterized by marked longitudinal and epibranchial ridges, and not preserving any spines on lateral margins. Despite the fact that Stenzel (1945: table p. 449) indicated on the dorsal ridges of C. oklahomensis the same number of tubercles as in C. inflatus View in CoL , he did not synonymise the two species (see under C. beardi View in CoL , below).
