Centris atriventris Mocsáry, 1896: 7 View in CoL .

Diagnosis. Female: Mesoscutum, mesoscutellum and anterior surface of tegula with orange hairs with dark orange tips. Mandible with four teeth (1st>3rd>4th>2nd): first and second with acute apex, third rounded and fourth truncate. Basitibial plates elliptical, posterior margin of secondary plate projected backwards ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 9 – 12 ). Male: Clypeus with two brown spots on upper half ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 4 ). Dorsal surface of mesosoma and tegula with orange hairs with dark orange tips ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 5 – 8 ). Metepisternum and propodeum with light brown pubescence. Base of hind claw with tuft of branched hairs on each side ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 13 – 16 ). Mandible with three teeth (3rd>1st>2nd) of acute apex, except third concave. This species is most similar to C. furcata . Females of both species differ by the width of their mandibular teeth (1st>3rd>4th>2nd in C. atriventris , 1st>2nd>4th>3rd in C. furcata , Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1 – 4 ), by the coloration of their clypeus (orange brown in C. atriventris , dark brown in C. furcata ) and by the shape of their secondary basitibial plate (projected backwards in C. atriventris , Fig. 9 View FIGURES 9 – 12 ; not projected backwards in C. furcata , Fig. 10 View FIGURES 9 – 12 ). Males differ mainly by the size of their second and third mandibular teeth (3rd>2nd in C. atriventris , Fig. 13 View FIGURES 13 – 16 ; 2nd>3rd in C. furcata Fig. 14 View FIGURES 13 – 16 ) and by the tuft of branched hairs at the base of the hind pretarsal claws (present in C. atriventris , Fig. 15 View FIGURES 13 – 16 ; absent in C. furcata , Fig. 16 View FIGURES 13 – 16 ).
