Note. Frey (1962: 50) mentions the male neotype of Ceraspis obscura from Cayenne [= French Guiana] in the BMNH, but does not indicate by whom or when it was designated. The labels on the relevant specimen in the BMNH, with collection number NHMUK013655398, make clear that he designated it himself in 1961.
