The name refers to the exceptionally long aristae of the female.

Male. Postpedicel longer than its greatest breadth. Left and right sides of epandrium as Figs 82 and 83 View FIGURES 82–83 ; left gonopod and lobe of hypandrium as Fig. 84 View FIGURES 84–87 ; right lobe as Fig. 85 View FIGURES 84–87 . Wing 1.2–1.3 mm long. Costal index 0.51–0.52. Vein 3 with a terminal vesicle which extends beyond tip of costa. All tibiae are brown.

Female. Length about 1 mm. Thorax and abdominal tergites uniformly dark brown contrasting with the almost colourless frons. Aristae at least 0.5 mm long. Sternite 8 and spermatheca as Fig. 86 View FIGURES 84–87 and furca as Fig. 87 View FIGURES 84–87 . Front tibia and distal halves of mid and hind tibiae whitish yellow. Hind tarsus with a ventral hair palisade on segments 1–3.

Material. Holotype male, Costa Rica, Puntarenas, Las Cruces Biological Station , 8.80 o N, 82.97 o W, 1200 m, Malaise trap, 14–19 November 2005, G. Kung & A. Kreuter ( CUMZ, 26-77) GoogleMaps .
