Type locality and specimens. Süd-Venezuela. Bisher nur ein von Georg Hübner gesammeltes ♀. Museum Hamburg.

Dimensions. Truncuslänge 12,5 mm [13.25; 15.35].

Oldest label. Cleobis hübneri Krpln , ♀ Typus, G. Hübner l.; O. Schneider ded. 25.XI.1898, Süd Venezuela ( Kraepelin handwriting).

Additional label. Ammotrechella hübneri (Krpl.) , 1 ♀ (Typus) S. Venezuela, Roewer rv. 1931. No. 8358 ( Roewer handwriting).

Type material. Holotype ♀ (ZMH-A0000206). Right chelicera dissected, right palp and leg III detached from body, abdomen damaged.

Collection remarks. G. Hübner on the original label may refer to Georg Hübner, a photographer and salesman who travelled the Amazon, Ecuador and Bolivia in 1888–1891 and pioneered in the photography of Indigenous people for a ‘ type collection’ produced for commercial sale ( Moschik & Weber-Unger 2012). He permanently emigrated to Brazil in 1897 and traveled to the headwaters of the Orinoco ( Hübner 1889), a journey during which the specimen was most likely collected. The female holotype was redescribed by Maury (1982).

Current systematic position. Ammotrechidae , Xenotrecha huebneri ( Kraepelin 1899) .
