Lectotype (Reveal in Jarvis & Turland in Taxon 47: 359. 1998): [icon] " Chrysanthemum trifoliatum Virginianum folio acutiore laevi " in Morison, Pl. Hist. Univ. 3: 21, s. 6, t. 3, f. 44. 1699.

Current name: Coreopsis tripteris L. View in CoL ( Asteraceae ).

Note: Smith (in Sida 6: 163. 1976) chose a neotype but this is unacceptable as an original element (the cited Morison plate) was in existence. Reveal therefore rejected this choice in favour of Morison’s illustration.
