Note: Hensen (in Belmontia Hort. 5(22): 190. 1961) appears to regard C. hybrida as a valid name and the basionym of " Sorbus hybrida (L.) L. " (1762). However, Sell (in Watsonia 17: 386. 1989) regards C. hybrida as a nomen nudum, and S. hybrida as a new name dating from 1762.
