Type locality. Chapada , Brazil.

Remarks. The species was reassigned to Tibicen Latreille, 1825 without comment by Metcalf (1963). It was then assigned to Diceroprocta Stål, 1870 based on a specimen that lacked an abdomen when the genus Tibicen was split into several genera ( Hill et al. 2015). However, the species was then assigned to the genus Guyalna ( Sanborn 2015) based on the three part tarsi and large, curved timbal cover seen in the complete syntype (CMNH) that distinguish it as a member of Guyalna ( Fig. 23 View FIGURE 23 ). Body length 16 mm, fore wing length 21 mm (measured from image of syntype).

Distribution. Specimens have been reported only from Brazil ( Uhler 1903).
