Hebrus acutiscutata [sic] Brown, 1951: 239. Holotype: ♀, Saudi Arabia: Al Birza near Jeddah ( BMNH).

Hebrus soudani Poisson, 1964: 216 View in CoL . Holotype: ♂, Sudan: Erkovit ( AMNH). Synonymized by Linnavuori (1980: 3).

Material examined. ISRAEL: E. Gedi [= Ein Gedi], 13/3. A, 25.x.1980, 1 Ƌ, D. Furth lgt., P. Kment det. ( NMPC) . YEMEN: Al Hudaydah Province, Jabal Bura valley forest NP (stream valley), 14°52.4–5′N 43°24.6–25.2′E, 240– 350 m a.s.l., at light, 4.xi.2010, 2 Ƌ 1 ♀, J. Hájek lgt., P. Kment det. ( NMPC) .

Distribution ( Fig. 72 View FIGURE 72 ). Asia: Israel (this paper), Saudia Arabia: Hijaz ( Brown 1951, Linnavuori 1980), Yemen (Linnavuori & van Harten 1997, 2002). Afrotropical Region: Sudan ( Poisson 1964, as H. soudani ; Linnavuori 1971, 1981). New species for Israel.

Comment. Linnavuori (1981) listed this species in the subgenus Hebrus s. str. and illustrated the scutellum.
