Caterpillars and pupae were collected in nature. This species damages trees and bushes in the family Rosaceae . Of the five recorded hosts, Malus sp. and A. vulgaris were preferred ( Table 1). This species overwinters as an early instar larva. Overwintering caterpillars hatch in the second week of April and feed on buds; they later attack leaves. Pupation occurs at the end of April and early May. Females lay about 150 eggs on leaves or occasionally on fruit, either or in groups of 2-8. There is one generation annually.
